AECP Level 1 Final Challenge- Gift Sets of His And Her Cards

I am back with my Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP) and this post is all about my attempt at the Level 1 final challenge. It’s a challenge to create 2 gift sets of cards, for him and for her. Feminine and Masculine cards.

In this post, which is loaded with lots of creativity and ideas, sharing a few cards inspired by all the classes I’ve joined in level 1. Combined a few techniques and designs in my cards. Hope you like it! 😊

I personally love the Altenew monthly challenge color palette. I look forward to this palette of colors every month and try to mix n match them in my creations. So for today's challenge, I've chosen two of my favorite palettes for creating my masculine and feminine cards. Let's start with cards for him.

Set of Masculine Cards…For Him

I love the soothing colors of this palette. A perfect blend for masculine cards. I played around these colors with a mix of gray and gave a little bit of a bright side of these colors with a touch of glitter/ gold.

Today my theme is flowers. Why should girls have all the flowers? 💐 HaHa...Yes! why do we stick around to black or brown or some masculine props like hats, mustaches, ties, goggles, tools, or similar things to create for him? So I changed this thought and loaded my cards with flowers as Altenew has known for its versatile flowers which go well for him or her. 😊

I’ve combined lots of techniques in my cards, but these are inspired by mostly Clean & Simple Boutique Cards, All About Layering, For The Guys, and Let It Shine classes 💙 Mixed some more components like repeat stamping to create the background, ink blending, using two or more ink colors, adding sequins, glitters, shimmer pens, use of embossing powders, geometrics, ink blend, and cardstock, putting it into practice, doodling and many more.

For sentiments, used the Altenew Label Love stamp set and stamped sentiments in different ink colors to match my cards and palette.

I've created a total of 6 cards and paired them in blue & gray cardstock. Gave freshness of yellow and popped them up with glitter. Used Altenew Glided Glitter Cardstock- Citrine and added thin stripes to my cards.

Set 1

This card is a mix of geometric and flowers. Used Simple Shapes stamp set and created this geometric background keeping the palette in mind. Altenew inks have all the color shades you want. Gave some splatter of gold using Altenew Metallic Watercolors.

Arranged flowers & leaves in a triangle to give a more natural look. Added some tiny flowers & leaves, heat embossed in silver and colored with Metallic watercolors and Altenew Markers. These flowers and leaves are from Adore You stamp set, mix n match them with my other card set.

For these cards, used the Painted Flowers stamp set along with Altenew inks. I chose this stamp set for the versatility of its flowers. they are good with or without layering. If your layering goes wrong, still they look as pretty as they are meant to look. The way flowers are designed goes well with masculine cards too.

Set 2

This card is a perfect example of two tips that I've learned in level 1 classes... leave a thin border for fussy cutting things and add flowers & leaves over the edge of the card and trim them. Blended them together and doodled flowers with Altenew Markers. Added that white with a gel pen.

These cards are made using repeat stamping, doodling, and two or more ink color techniques. The Altenew Bamboo Rose stamp set is perfect for doodling. It has bold flowers and butterflies to doodle and tiny elements to create the background. They are perfectly designed and go well with masculine cards.

Set 3

These cards are a mix of ink blending techniques, embossing, and creating a background. The flowers are from Adore You stamp set. These colors are going well for masculine cards. Loving the outcome of my theme of using flowers for him.

Set of Feminine Cards…For Her

For my feminine cards tried to use this Altenew color palette with a touch of green and bright yellow.

I’ve been so inspired by this palette that I’ve chosen my card base too in different shades of pink. Added again a touch of Altenew Glided Glitter cardstock - Smoky Quartz. This time chose sentiments in black only.

I’ve played around mainly in All About Layering, Let It Shine, and Clean & Simple Boutique Cards classes. Added a few techniques like ink blending, stamps & matching dies, embellishments, embossing powders, metallic colors, repeat stamping, and creating the background.

My Feminine Cards have loaded with flowers too as my theme for the challenge is flowers and no one can beat the beauty and versatility of Altenew Flowers. 💗💐💗

Black sentiments are from Altenew Castle Garden, Ethereal Roses, and Label Love stamps.

Set 1

This pair is a combination of repeat stamping and embossing. I've created my background on pink cardstock using the Simple Shapes stamp set. Chose a triangle shape stamp and gave it a subtle look with Altenew inks. Picked the outline shapes and heat embossed it using Altenew Rose Gold embossing powder.

The flower clusters made with layered Vintage Roses and white fillers are from the Beautiful Day stamp set. Just gave a touch of my palette colors using Altenew markers.

Set 2

For this pair created a big bold flowery background with Altenew Watercolor Wonder stamp set. for one card, embossed it and the other one kept se it is. added splatters in matching colors, arrenged flowers, and added sentiments with a glitter strip and sequins.

That layered flower is from the Vintage Flowers stamp set, and to give an interesting look, the last layer was heat embossed. Tiny layered roses are from the Ethereal Roses stamp. Added some strokes of metallic watercolors to the background flowers.

Set 3

For this pair of cards, I've done layered stenciling using the Altenew Blooming Flower Bed stencil set. Build a panel using Altenew inks. Cut it and pasted it to the pink cardstock. Added glitter strip and layered flowers. I've added a few tiny flowers off the cluster as experimental. Do you like it? Let me know in comments.

Gift Set Packaging with Recycling

For this gift packaging, I've recycled a storage tray into a gift box for my sets. It's a transparent tray that I was using to arrange my crafty stuff. and the other one I grabbed from my son's study table...lol 😄

I've stamped this geometric design for him card set and tiny flowers and leaves for her using archival ink. Colored them with Altenew Markers which went so well on this surface. Added strips as per the tray design along with doodled circles/dots.

Put my cards in trays with matching envelopes. Embellished with some sequins & pearls. Wrapped satin ribbons, added tags, paper flowers and stamped images on tags. I've chosen a burlap lace for masculine set and a crocette lace for feminine set in addition.

I hope you like my take on the AECP Level 1 Challenge of creating a Gift Set for her and for him/ masculine and feminine cards. I had so much fun creating these with Altenew products.
